WSU ROAR Video Library

Lights. Camera. Action. ROAR.

We can tell you about WSU ROAR. That’s easy enough to do. But will the written word every truly engage you like visually getting to know our WSU ROAR students?

Job shadowing Nina

WSU ROAR student excels at WSU Children’s Center
Nina Buckles-Oldenburg is a student in Washington State University’s ROAR program, hosted by the College of Education. As part of that program, the college relies on partners to help provide the students real life work opportunities. In this video, we show Nina fulfilling her responsibilities with the WSU Children’s Center. As you can guess, when the camera was rolling and Nina was trying to say a few things, the children simply wouldn’t let her :)!
Job Shadowing Evan

WSU ROAR and UREC partnering on opportunities
Evan Henniger is a student in Washington State University’s ROAR program, hosted by the College of Education. As part of that program, the college relies on partners to help provide the students real life work opportunities. In this video, we show Evan fulfilling his responsibilities with University Recreation, working at the Student Recreation Center. We were able to capture his most epic towel-racing adventure with his daily supervisor Angel.
Pumpkin Painting Fun

WSU ROAR pumpkin painting – 10.30.2019
Along with their peer allies, WSU ROAR students had some Halloween fun by painting pumpkins. Not only is it not unusual to get together for this kind of fun, it’s the norm! The WSU ROAR peer ally program is for both undergraduate and graduate students at Washington State University. They are trained and given opportunities in order to work alongside our students and, overall, just help them feel welcome at WSU and with other college students.
Student Testimonial: Hayden Buchanan

Hayden loves both WSU and Pullman
Hayden is in his first year with WSU ROAR, likes Pullman, and hopes after he’s done, he can have some sort of job in a multimedia sphere. One of the best – and most crucial – parts of the WSU ROAR experience is giving students the opportunity to gain experience in a number of new and exciting, albeit sometimes scary, areas of life. This includes living in a new city. It includes having a job or internship. But it helps our students grow.
