Getting to Know You: Trino Chavez
Trino Chavez — Secondary Education undergraduate student Q&A
Where are you from?
Pasco, Washington
What year are you?
This is my 5th year at WSU.
What would you like to teach?
Mathematics!
How did you gain an interest in mathematics?
When I was in middle school, my math teacher always encouraged me to challenge myself in her class. When I came to WSU I decided to focus on mathematics because I felt comfortable with the subject. I always enjoyed math ever since I was a kid. I knew I wanted to teach and I found and avenue to teaching through the subject of mathematics.
Which subject interests you the most?
Algebra because it is the base for deeper subjects in math.
What are your goals after graduation?
After graduation I would like to do one of two things: I would like to teach anywhere across the country or teach in Pasco. In near future I would also want to get my Masters in Education but first I would like to gain teaching experience.
