2021 Champion for Sport and Health – Krista Jones

Introducing Krista Jones

Krista Jones graduated from Washington State University in 1997 with a bachelors of science degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science. She went on to earn her doctorate in physical therapy in 2005 from Eastern Washington University.  Krista’s early career involved overseeing a fitness center and then transitioned into therapy.

Krista is currently the Director of Therapy Services at Whitman Hospital & Medical Clinics (WHMC) and adjunct professor for the Department of Kinesiology and Educational Psychology. She served on the advisory board for the department prior to serving as an adjunct professor.

Krista is a board-certified geriatric clinical specialist in the field of physical therapy.  She holds a variety of certifications from kinesiology taping to functional movement screen.  Krista chairs the wellness committee at WHMC, promoting staff and community wellness. She has received several wellness grants focused on community wellness activities. Krista has a strong interest in student programming and community outreach opportunities. She coordinates with a variety of schools to place both undergraduate and graduate students in the therapy setting for athletic training, speech and language pathology, occupational therapy, and physical therapy.
