What are you studying? Masters in Athletic Training
Why are you studying this? What do you hope to do with this afterward?
I had a significant injury my senior year in high school. I met so many wonderful people who helped me recover and get back into shape, one of which was my athletic trainer. I saw his passion for athletic training and inspired me to do the same and make an impact in sports. I hope to work in a high school or a smaller collegiate setting to focus on the health and well-being of all of my athletes.
Why did you choose WSU?
My high school freshman World History teacher is an alumni (a massive Coug fan) and was one of my favorite teachers in high school. He suggested WSU when I was looking for colleges my senior year and I decided on it when I chose to go into athletic training. He told me about all the unique qualities of Pullman and WSU and I felt right at home on my campus tour!
What’s been your favorite part of the WSU experience thus far?
Getting to work with all of the different sports teams and getting the different experiences of both being a fan and working behind the scenes.
What has been the biggest challenge so far?
Learning time management, because it’s too easy to procrastinate stressful things.
As a college, we’re focusing on our people being agents of change. What makes you an agent of change?
I think my efforts in teaching and mentoring fellow students in and out of our program helps them to be better at obtaining information and I can be an example to them for when they graduate and start their careers.
