#TeacherToBeTuesday: Jordyn Smith

Jordyn Smith – Secondary Education

Year in school: Senior

Hometown: Kettle Falls, Washington

What are you studying? Math education.

Why are you studying this? What do you hope to do with this afterward?

I love math! So, getting a degree in it was a no brainer. I chose teaching on the other hand because of the amazing teachers who changed my life. After I graduate I hope to do the same teaching high school math.

Why did you choose WSU?

Community! No matter where you go in the world you will hear someone say GO COUGS!

What’s been your favorite part of the WSU experience thus far?

The amazing people that I have met. I would not be who I am without them, and I am truly grateful to WSU for provided me the opportunity to meet them.

As a college, we’re focusing on our people being agents of change. What makes you an agent of change?

Kids are the future, they will change the world, and I want to help provide them with the tools to do so. Teaching will allow me to do so.
