Getting to Know You: Emily Weible

Emily Weible – Sport Science and Psychology Undergraduate Student

Hometown: St. Louis, Missouri

What appeals to you most in this field?
The diversity of what you can do with the degree!

What makes this program special and what do you like most about the department?
The professors are amazing! Everyone seems to want to see you succeed and will help you if you reach out to them.

Have you had any experience in this area, such as an internship?
I was an intern in the Exercise Physiology and Performance Laboratory on campus this past summer. I still volunteer in the lab as a research assistant and testing co-coordinator.

What are your future plans as you go through the program?
After this semester I am finished with the program, but I have applied to several graduate schools to pursue a Masters in Exercise Science. Since working in the lab on campus I’ve realized how much I love research so that is something I hope to continue as I move forward in this field.

Do you have any advance for incoming freshmen pursuing this degree?
Don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself! If you are interested in working in a lab or getting more involved in the program ask someone and they will do their best to point you in the right direction. This program has so much to offer if you just take advantage of the resources you have now it will definitely pay off in the future.

What kind of extracurricular activities are you a part of?
The WSU Women’s Rowing Team
