Getting to Know You: Devin Lucas

Devin Lucas – Sport Management

Year in school: senior

Hometown: Spanaway, Washington

Why are you studying Sport Management? What do you hope to do after you graduate?

I grew up playing sports, specifically hockey, throughout my childhood. This caused me to love sports and the sporting industry as a whole.

I hope to work in youth sports when I graduate. This could be through working with a parks and recreation department, coaching, and volunteering.

Why did you choose WSU?

I have been a fan of the Cougs since I was a kid.

What’s been your favorite part of the WSU experience thus far?

My favorite part of the WSU experience thus far has been being a part of the WSU Greek Community through my membership in FarmHouse Fraternity and working at The Center for Fraternity and Sorority Life.

What’s been the biggest challenge so far?

Adjusting back to in-person classes after the 2020 virtual school year.

As a college, we’re starting to focus more on our people being agents of change. What makes you an agent of change?

When I see an issue, I try to step up and act. This can be seen through group project participation, communication with my peers, and much more. Additionally, this can seen through me working with Cougar Health Services in the Health Promotion Department.
