Meet Me Monday: David Miskho

David Miskho – Sport Management

Year in school: junior

Hometown: Maple Valley, Washington

Why are you studying Sport Management? What do you hope to do with it after you graduate?

I love sport and the influence it can have. My hope is to move to Japan and expand American football there, eventually working toward a Japanese NFL game or even a team.

Why did you choose WSU?

WSU is a school that, growing up in Washington, is talked about a lot. The direct comparisons are often University of Washington for many kids in my area. A lot of people in Washington like to laud UW and put it on a pedestal but whenever I heard people talk about WSU they instead seemed like they enjoyed school as opposed to fighting through it.

What’s been your favorite part of the WSU experience thus far?

My favorite part is the community. Everyone is nice and friendly. It really has a small-town vibe as a very big school it’s nice

What has been the biggest challenge so far?

There aren’t a lot of things out here. We don’t have a Burger King, for example, and the closest one is hours away. So, sometimes, trying to acquire something you need or want is a nightmare.

As a college, we’re focusing on our people being agents of change. What makes you an agent of change?

For me, right now, I choose to be an agent of change in smaller ways; making sure that I improve as person in order to be better for the people around me. Big changes can come later once I know more about what changes I would truly like to see.
