Getting to Know You: Alivia Wynar

Alivia Wynar – Athletic Training

Year in school: graduate student

Hometown: Lynnwood, Washington

Why are you studying Athletic Training? What do you hope to do with this after you graduate?

The profession of athletic training is really rewarding because we can help injured athletes return to play when they didn’t think it was possible. After I graduate, I hope to work as a certified football athletic trainer at a Division 1 university.

Why did you choose WSU?

I really enjoy how it is a college town and everyone is friendly at WSU.

What’s been your favorite part of the WSU experience thus far?

Working as an athletic training student with the WSU football  team.

What’s been the biggest challenge so far?

Balancing school with clinical hours.

As a college, we’re focusing on our people being agents of change. What makes you an agent of change?

I believe in giving everyone equal opportunities and treating everyone the same. Working with younger athletic training students allows for me to do this on a daily basis, and create an environment where they can grow as students.
