Jason joined the College of Education in September 2022. He was born and raised in Oregon and is a graduate of Oregon State University. Before joining the college, Jason spent 15 years of his career as a PGA Professional managing golf courses throughout Oregon. While living in Eugene and working at Eugene Community College, Jason was a volunteer Assistant Coach for the University of Oregon Women’s Golf team. After leaving the golf business to spend more time with his family, he co-managed the Financial Services Department for the Division of Child Support with the State of Oregon.

Jason’s partner, Dr. Stephany RunningHawk Johnson, also works for the College of Education, as a faculty member in the Cultural Studies and Social Thought in Education program. Their two daughters, Kora (14) and Brynn (11), attend Pullman Public Schools. In his free time Jason enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, softball, watching Kora play volleyball and watching Brynn ride horses.
