Math and Science Ed – Rachel Larson

Rachel Larson

“I was interested in the Math and Science Ph.D. program because of the way it allows me to continue to work while simultaneously taking steps to further my career.”

Rachel Larson is pursuing a Ph.D. in Math and Science Education with a focus on comparative medical education. Her interest in education began as an undergraduate student at Washington State University where she was fortunate enough to have mentors that shaped her education while she pursued bachelor’s degrees in Neuroscience and Spanish. Her passion for comparative medical education started while pursuing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Science. Rachel’s research interests are still developing, but she has been excited about developing a comparative medicine curriculum with WSU’s Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine.
