Getting to Know You: Cody Sandefur

Cody Sandefur — Kinesiology undergraduate student
Q&A

Where are you from?
Fullerton, Califronia

What year are you?
Sophomore

Why did you choose to major in Kinesiology?
I chose Kinesiology because I love sports as well as human interaction. Studying kines has allowed me to build so many relationships with people while always helping me learn more about human health and exercise. What I love most with kinesiology is that not only does the major teach me the skills I will need as a professional but it also encourages me to live a healthier lifestyle and help those around me do the same.

Outside of the college of education, you are a  member of the WSU Honors College. How do you stay on top of things and keep a balance?
For me, being organized and keeping a schedule is key to balancing Kinesiology and Honors. By keeping myself to a schedule, I am able to balance my classes as well as my extracurriculars and exercise without getting behind.

Are you involved in any other things on campus?
I am a newly elected executive member of my fraternity, Phi Kappa Sigma.

Short term I am looking to get more involved in the Kinesiology program, including internships and the Exercise Physiology Lab. In the long term I would like to run my own Physical Therapy and Athletic Training practice.
