About Dr. Karaer
Dr. Gamze Karaer is a visiting research scholar in the Department of Kinesiology and Educational Psychology.
She received her doctoral degree in the field of Special education from the Eskisehir Osmangazi University and earned international research fellowship funded by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye. Her doctoral research is directed toward developing instructional models as components of interventions to improve science and literacy performance of learning disabilities. Dr. Karaer taught topics such as Special Education and Inclusion, Students with Learning Disabilities, Individualization and Adaptation of Instruction to undergraduate level students. Dr. Karaer’s research interest focuses on the science education for students with disabilities. Specifically, her research addresses the effectiveness of generative learning environments on critical thinking, science, and language skills of students with disabilities.
