Daniel is a Ph.D student and a teaching assistant in the Department of Teaching and Learning. His current research focuses on the use of systematic observational research tools to explore the acquisition of early and advanced literacy skills. Daniel is passionate about ensuring that young children, especially those from deprived and underprivileged backgrounds, are taught how to read, using the most effective teaching and learning strategies.

Before joining WSU, Daniel worked with educators and education sector agencies to improve the elementary school literacy curriculum to enhance the development of early reading and writing skills in young learners in his home country, Ghana.

Daniel’s hobbies include reading, playing, and watching soccer.
