Phillip Hinrichs is an instructor to WSU and Intermediate Golf (last semester he was teaching beginning golf class). He received his Sport Management BA in 2009 from WSU while earning multiple varsity letters while competing as middle-distance runner for WSU Cross Country, Indoor, and Outdoor Track & Field teams. Phillip qualified for multiple Pac-10 Championships in the Steeplechase while being nationally and globally ranked in the event. Post-collegiate Phillip trained with the elite distance running group ‘Hanson-Brooks’, finishing 3rd at the 2010 Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon, and earning an elite division invitations to the Boston Marathon, 2010 Bloomsday, and continued to train for the 2012 USA Track & Field Olympic Trials before chronic injuries forced him to retired from professional road racing and Track & Field. He moved back to Pullman, WA from Phoenix, AZ in 2014 after living in San Diego and Spokane for years as he commenced his golf teaching and playing career.
Phillip is a tenured board member for Palouse Ridge Golf Association, serving as Tournament Chairman for all competitive events with PRGA. He was the President of the PRGA Board from 2015-2018 and oversaw the largest three year growth in association history.
He is a private caddy for Coeur’d Alene Resort and Golf Course, The Club at Blackrock, and Symetra Tour.

In addition to golf, Phillip is the Sport Coordinator for City of Moscow Parks & Recreation (Moscow, ID). He enjoys creating, programming, and coordinating youth athletic events, programs, and/or games for youth & adults within the Palouse area communities.
Phillip is a NCAA Women’s Basketball postseason official (referee). He has risen in the eight years officiating to multiple Division-II, Division-III, NAIA, and NWAC basketball conferences. During the late fall and winter months, when Phillip isn’t caddying, competing, and/or instructing golf he is on the hardwood.
