application information
Note: The following information is for those planning to attend WSU's Pullman campus. For information about applying for education graduate programs on other campuses, please click on WSU Spokane, WSU Tri-Cities, or WSU Vancouver.
The priority deadline for admission to graduate programs in the College of Education is January 10 for fall admission. Applicants meeting this deadline will have first priority for full consideration into the programs, as well as for available assistantships and funding.
The Masters in Teaching program has a different application deadline of November 15.
Applications received between January 11 and March 15 may be reviewed on a space available basis. Students are encouraged to meet the January 10 deadline for full consideration.
The three-step application process:
- Apply to the WSU Graduate School
- Submit supplemental materials required by area of specialization
- Follow up with Graduate School and College of Education Office of Graduate Studies to ensure all materials have been received by the deadline.
Your Graduate School application must include:
- Application form - apply on line at http://gradsch.wsu.edu/.
- $50 application fee
- Official transcripts sent directly from the Registrar of any institution(s) previously attended
- Names and email addresses of three people from whom letters of recommendation will be requested
- You must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
Your departmental application must include:
- Copy of Graduate School application (If submitted on-line, a copy need not be sent to the department.)
- Supplemental information form
- Three letters of recommendation (Letters submitted online to the Graduate School are only letters required. Be sure to review program application requirements for specific criteria that must be addressed in the letters.)
- All programs require additional information and items that are program specific (such as a letter of intent, application essay, etc.)
- Some programs require examinations such as the GRE, WEST-B and Praxis II
- Some programs require an academic writing sample
