Mission of the Strength and Conditioning Minor:  give students hands-on experience to expand their knowledge and professionalism in strength and conditioning and understand the science driving the profession.

Prepares students to sit for the National Strength and Conditioning Association‘s CSCS® certification exam, the gold standard for strength and conditioning professionals.

300+ hours of internship with WSU’s NCAA Division 1 athletes and coaches, in addition to affiliated sites in the community setting tailored to student’s professional goals.

Wide variety of professional settings possible.  The strength and conditioning minor has been able to help place graduates in collegiate and high school athletic programs, professional gyms, and sport performance centers across the country.

→This experience also enhances non-traditional careers that have a desire to focus on athletes of all ages:  Athletic training, Physical therapy, Personal training, Sport coaching, Physical education, Chiropractic care, Tactical (military, emergency personnel) training, Occupational therapy, Gym ownership

One of only TWO schools in Washington State recognized by The National Strength and Conditioning Association for its approved strength and conditioning undergraduate curricula, designed to prepare undergraduate students for the NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®) certifications.
