Ailaiti Xiaerzhate (Shirzat)

Inspirational

Nomination highlights:  “As all students have faced with the COVID circumstances, Shirzat had multiple obstacles this past year.  Throughout it all, even in his most stressful weeks, he maintained an extremely positive outlook and work ethic in his Bohler internship.  In a time when it was easy to do the bare minimum, Shirzhat excelled not only in work ethic, but in advancing in leadership.  A direct quote from his supervisor is that he “demonstrated an understanding of what it means to be a student-intern”, and has “taken to heart to learn and progress”.   His positive outlook lead me to believe he is a perfect representative of what we want WSU Kinesiology inspiration to look like.”

What are you doing after graduation?   I am planning on continue my education and getting a master degree of kinesiology.

What are you doing/did do for your Kines 485 internship? I am currently doing my internship right now at the Bohler strength and condition department in the summer.

What is your aspiration for future profession?   My end goal is to eventually get a gym of my own, I want my gym to be easy accessible to anyone who want to pursue a better quality of life through exercise and push their limits to reach their goals.

What did you like most about being a part the Kinesiology program?   I really love all the variety of opportunities that is provided to learn more exercise science that are here in WSU, such as kinesiology clubs, strength and conditioning minor, Urec also offer a lot of job opportunities to kinesiology students.  These opportunities really helped me expand my knowledge base and be better at what I do.

What advice would you give to freshman?   The advice that I would give to freshman is that do not miss out the opportunities WSU provided, trying to have an open mind to learn new things is critical to successful life.

What are you going to miss most about WSU?  I’ll miss  the energetic environment in WSU, specifically in Strength and Conditioning department, but fortunately and hopefully I’ll continue my education here in WSU for my master degree of Kinesiology.
