“I chose the WSU Kinesiology master’s program because there’s no place like WSU. The energy that the campus, the faculty and staff, and the students bring is unbeatable. There is no better environment and no better program to help me reach my educational and professional goals. I also get the unique opportunity to work in the Exercise Physiology and Performance Laboratory here and gain first-hand experience with exercise testing. “

Pia Richards graduated from WSU in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and is currently a master’s student in the WSU Kinesiology Program. She works in the Exercise Physiology and Performance Laboratory (EPPL) and is a Student-Athlete on the Cross Country and Track & Field teams.

Pia is interested in anything sports and fitness-related but is particularly interested in the performance improvement aspect of athletics, specifically in elite athletes. She hopes to become a collegiate cross country and track & field coach after completing her master’s degree. In her free time, Pia enjoys knitting, crocheting, sewing, or painting and is typically working on more projects than she can keep track of.
