Assistant Professor, Tenure-Track — Sport Management

The Sport Management program in the College of Education at Washington State University is soliciting applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in sport management. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct research in their area of expertise within sport management, be able to teach a broad range of undergraduate courses in sport management as well as graduate courses in their area of expertise, provide service to the university, and engage with campus and local communities. The typical contractual load for a tenure-track assistant professor is 40% teaching (two courses per semester), 40% research and 20% service. We are seeking candidates with a focused research agenda and the ability to secure external funding or evidence of potential to do so. Candidates who can demonstrate engagement in interdisciplinary work, foster scholarly connections among current faculty and contribute to diversity, equity and inclusion efforts are especially encouraged to apply. The College of Education seeks applicants who can demonstrate knowledge and ability to work effectively with individuals and groups with a variety of identities, cultures and backgrounds.

Required qualifications: An earned Ph.D. in sport management, sport administration or closely related field by the position start date; evidence of high-quality research; ability to effectively teach a broad range of undergraduate courses in sport management; demonstrated pursuit of (or evidence of potential to secure) external funding; ability to contribute to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion consistent with the WSU strategic plan.

Preferred Qualifications: Ability to teach graduate courses in sport management; evidence of ability to mentor graduate students; evidence of ability to teach and work with diverse populations; evidence of ability to work collaboratively with other faculty; evidence of publishing first-authored publications in high-quality scholarly journals; relevant practical experience in the sport or recreation industries.

Faculty, Tenure Track — Cultural Studies and Social Thought in Education

Title: Associate or Assistant Professor

About this position: This position is part of a faculty cluster hire initiative in the scholarship and teaching about racism and social inequality in the Americas, with a particular focus this year on Native American/Indigenous communities. Faculty, Tenure-Track — Kinesiology

About this position: The Kinesiology Program (located within the College of Education on the Pullman campus) is seeking applications for an assistant professor in a tenure track, 9-month appointment with possibility of summer employment. Applicants will be expected to successfully conduct research and teach coursework within their expertise area, as well as provide service and community engagement. We are seeking candidates with a clear research agenda and strong commitment to a focused line of research. Preferred areas of scholarship include, but are not limited to, Motor Behavior in the areas of motor development, motor learning, or motor control. Candidates should be emerging scholars with demonstrated capacity to pursue their research agenda with preference given to those with post-doctoral research and/or grant experience. Additionally, candidates are sought who can demonstrate engagement in interdisciplinary work and foster scholarly connections among current faculty (current department expertise includes biomechanics, physiology, psychology, motor learning and control, research methodology and statistics) and across the university.

Faculty, Career-Track — Kinesiology

About this position: The Kinesiology Program on the Pullman campus is seeking applications for an assistant professor (career track/non-tenure track) position, with a 9-month appointment and possibility of summer employment. Applicants will be expected to teach four undergraduate courses each semester in two or more of the following content areas: strength and conditioning, fitness, exercise physiology, exercise prescription, or biomechanics and provide administrative support for our Strength and Conditioning minor.
