WSU Roar Lentil Cook-Off

WSU Roar Lentil Cook-Off

With the return of the fall semester, WSU ROAR and the Cougar Baseball team came together in an impressive lentil-cookoff competition.

At Bailey-Brayton Field, WSU baseball players were united with students in the ROAR program, an on-campus program for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. In this event, both programs were split up into teams to each create their own lentil recipe for a panel of judges. Think Master Chef but with a Coug twist.

All teams put forth a strong effort, but in the end, only one team prevailed. Led by Cougar third baseman Jack Smith and his ROAR sous-chefs, team ‘Yes Chefs’ took home the top prize in what head coach Brian Green says will become an annual tradition.

The judge panel consisted of Green, WSU COE Director of Marketing and Communications Brandon Chapman, and ROAR supporter Beth Swanson.
