Why did you choose Washington State University?
I chose to attend Washington State University because of the atmosphere. When visiting as a high school student, I felt at home. I knew I wanted to stay in state for college and WSU being one of the few public universities with a Sport Management program, it made my decision easier. Three years later, I still love the Coug spirit and have found my place.

What influenced your decision to pursue this degree?
Sports have been a part of my life growing up. I love the atmosphere at sport events and I have always been intrigued to see what occurs behind the scenes of games. After looking into the program and speaking to Veronica, the Sport Management Advisor, I knew this was the major for me.

What makes this program special and what do you like most about the department?
The resources provided and the professors are what make this program so special. The professors want you to succeed and be as prepared as you can to work in the sport industry. Through this program I was able to study abroad to Korea with faculty and gain not only Sport Management course credit, but global experiences as well. We all got an insight of how sports are operated on a global aspect and toured many facilities that will be used for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

Have you had any experience in this area, such as an internship?
Not necessarily an internship, however, through the program we are required to do practicum hours. I have completed my hours with the WSU Marketing and Promotions, the Academic Resource Center for Student Athletes, and now with Coug Guys and Gals. I thoroughly enjoyed working in all organizations. You really get an insight of what happens before games, the set up, and specifically how universities guide and provide academic and career resources for student athletes.
