Why did you choose WSU?
When I was in high school, I knew that I had always wanted to leave town, but I didn’t want it to be too far. I had a lot of teachers who went to WSU and I started looking into it. The first time that I ever went to WSU was my freshman year of high school and I fell in love instantly. The community was so welcoming and the campus was amazing! I told my parents, “This is it! This is where I am going to college!”

Why do you want to become a teacher?
I want to become a teacher because I want to inspire my students to follow their dreams and achieve their goals. I want to make a difference in a student’s life and show that they are capable of doing whatever they put their mind to.

What are you most passionate about when it comes to being a teacher?
The thing that I am most passionate about when it comes to being a teacher is seeing that spark in a student’s eyes when they finally understand something and realize there is no stopping them and they are capable of more than they imagined.

What/who inspired you to become a teacher?
I was inspired to become a teacher due to my 4th-grade teacher. She was someone that I could always go to and made me realize teaching is more than just teaching students content, it’s about creating an environment that students can go to and feel accepted and appreciated.

What do you hope to achieve in this career?
I hope to be the teacher that creates a positive learning environment where students know that they are all accepted and know that not only am I teaching them, but they are teaching me how to become the best teacher that I could possibly be for them.
