What are you most passionate about when it comes to being a teacher?
I am most passionate about student learning. I love seeing how students light up when they are learning something new, or are working on a subject they love. That energy motivates me to create more times like those for my students. I think when your students come into the classroom excited and ready to learn something new you are doing something right. And what’s what is most exciting.

What/who inspired you to become a teacher?
My fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Barich. She was the highlight of my school years and believe in me like no one else. I hope to be half the teacher she is someday.

Do you have any advice for incoming freshmen?
Take in as much as you can. Your time in the program flies by, and you are given a ton of information. But, it truly is what you make you make of it. I keep a notebook of all the teaching tips my professors give me, and I look forward to using some of those ideas in my own classroom.
