Title: Co-Director of Field Experiences, Instructor, Field Supervisor
How long have you worked as the Co-Director of Field Experiences, Instructor, Field Supervisor?
This is my first year as Co-Director and second year as a Field Supervisor and Instructor.
What is the most important thing you do to help potential teachers?
Probably the most important thing I can do for preservice teachers is to help them reflect on their practice. When you are reflective, you are continually improving.
What do you hope to see from new teachers?
I hope to see a passion for kids and for teaching.
Why do you think it’s important to support young teachers and/or the College of Education?
Teaching is a very hard profession. When experienced educators work with preservice teachers they learn from one another and support each other. Teaching is a collaborative profession. Young teachers learn that from the beginning in our program.
