“The reason I want to be a secondary education teacher is to see the influence that I will have on students. I think adolescence is such a unique time–a time where students need positive role models in order to help them achieve their goals. I want to be that resource for them because sometimes all a struggling student needs is a little push in the right direction. I want to help students understand that math is more than just numbers on paper, or memorizing times tables. I want them to understand and appreciate the applications that math has in the real world.”
