Bio

Rachel Halsey is pursuing a Ph.D in Mathematics and Science Education with an emphasis on teaching and learning particularly in the area of veterinary medical education.  Her interest in science education first arose during her undergraduate education, where she earned a B.S. in Agricultural Education and Animal Science. She went on to complete a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Oregon State University/Washington State University and is currently working full time for the College of Veterinary Medicine at WSU.  Through her involvement in the veterinary medical education curriculum Rachel’s research interests are professional development in the realm of teaching and learning, specifically how individual’s teaching behaviors can influence the learning environment and educational culture of the college community.
