Short Bio

Jessica Hoppe is a part-time doctoral student in the Mathematics and Science Education PhD program at WSU. Jessica is a Tenured Mathematics Instructor at Spokane Falls Community College where she focuses primarily on teaching math for future educators, developmental math and math for STEM majors. Jessica earned her M.S. in Mathematics from Eastern Washington University, her Masters of Initial Teaching from Gonzaga University and her B.S. in Mathematics from Saginaw Valley State University. Current research interests include pedagogical methods for highlighting the Mathematical Practice Standards in the classroom in order to help future and practicing teachers encourage students to become more effective, confident and determined mathematics learners.
