Scheduling dissertation/thesis proposal meetings

Master’s students – are you ready to schedule your non-thesis (M-1) special project meeting or your Thesis Research Proposal (T-1) meeting?  Doctoral students – are you ready to hold your Dissertation Research Proposal (D1) meeting?  Then this page is for you.

Procedures for processing Dissertation / Special Project / Thesis proposal Forms:

  • Student may need to be enrolled and registered for the required number of 700 / 702 / 800credits. Please check with your advisor.
  • Student’s please confirm with your committee the date / time / room number reservation and how everyone is attending the meeting and complete the form.
  • It’s the student’s responsibility to seek approvals by email on the form from their committee members as well as and the dept. chair. Please only submit one form with everyone’s approvals.
  • For a proposal defense that is open to the public:
    • An electronic copy of the Abstract must be sent to the Office of Graduate Studies at the same time this form is submitted.
      If the meeting has a zoom component, please include the Zoom meeting information.
  • Please return this form and any attachments to the Office of Graduate Studies at gradstudies@wsu.edu no later than 10 full business days prior to the desired meeting date.
  • Within 10 business days after your meeting, please complete the appropriate Approval form, seeking electronic approvals before returning to gradstudies@wsu.edu with any required attachments.
