Teaching and professional interests

Ashley teaches courses in the Master’s in Teaching program that focus on the development of learning and how to engage students through building connections, creating culturally responsive and authentic learning environments, and meeting the diverse needs of learners. Ashley is passionate about working with preservice teachers and uses her previous experiences as a classroom teacher to deepen the connection between the course content and field experiences. Ashley is focused on deepening her understanding of best practices for preparing preservice teachers, creating responsive learning environments, and integrating social emotional learning into the K-12 classroom.
