College of Education

Overview

We offer world-class education

In Washington State University's College of Education, a community of dedicated teachers and learners helps you prepare for a successful career in education or in sport and fitness.

An atmosphere of excellence

At the College of Education we aim to give you an environment that promotes the best possible learning experience. Our faculty take personal interest in students' academic and professional careers. On the Pullman campus, the college provides a state-of-the art classroom facility with the Education Addition.

Statewide learning opportunities

The College of Education at WSU prepares you for careers in the fields of education, sport and fitness, including teaching, educational administration, counseling, athletic training, and sport management. Our college is one of the few that has presence at all four WSU campuses, meaning that no matter where you are in the state of Washington, you can get the most from your education.

Teacher certification

Our broad range of certification and endorsement programs provide both current teachers and teachers-to-be with the training and preparation they need to teach middle and high-school students in specific subject areas.

The collaborative National Board for Professional Teaching Standards program at the College of Education is becoming the model for advancing the quality of teaching and learning in America's classrooms. Teachers who have completed the WSU NBPTS program have consistently exceeded the national and state certification rates.

World-class research

Our faculty are active contributors to the development of their fields. Their research is not limited to labs and reports, but is brought directly into the classrooms with their instruction and student-teacher interaction.
