Getting to Know You: Morgan Davis

Morgan Davis – Athletic Training

Hometown: Woodinville, WA

What inspired you to pursue a degree in kinesiology?
Being an athlete all my life, I found myself coming into contact with athletic trainers very often. I quickly learned that I could pursue a profession that combined my love for sports, helping others, as well as my intrigue in medicine and health care. After finding out that athletic training could combine all of these things, I have had my mind set on pursuing this as a long term career.

What is your favorite part of this program?
My favorite part of the Athletic Training Program is all the learning opportunities that we are given. We are extremely fortunate to have chances to learn in different settings in both Washington and Idaho and it makes our knowledge base that much stronger. We are also a very close program so it’s almost like a big family which always makes things fun.

What do you hope to get out of your career?
I hope to build life long relationships with other amazing people in the profession and ultimately contribute to the lives of athletes wherever I work. My goal is to create a positive difference in the lives of all athletes I treat and interact with.

What are your future plans as you go through the program?
After graduating this semester, I will be attending Arizona State University as a graduate assistant athletic trainer working within their Sports Medicine staff. I am very excited about this new adventure and am happy to be staying within the PAC-12 and represent Cougar nation.

What, or who motivates you as a student?
What motivates me as a student are my family and peers. I want to be able to make everyone who’s supported me proud of what I am doing and what I have done. They are a constant encouragement to pursue what I love and to strive at being the best I can be.
