Department of Educational Leadership & Counseling Psychology

The priority deadline for admission to graduate programs in the College of Education is January 10 for fall admission. Applicants meeting this deadline will have first priority for full consideration into the programs, as well as for available assistantships and funding.

Applications received between January 11 and March 15 may be reviewed on a space available basis. Students are encouraged to meet the January 10 deadline for full consideration.

The following items must be submitted directly to the WSU Graduate School in addition to the online application:
  • Official transcripts showing all previous college or university coursework
  • Three letters of recommendation (two of which must be from former professors and address academic qualifications)
  • Current resume documenting your educational attainments and any sport management and related work and/or research experience.
  • A one-page, typed, single-spaced statement describing your career goals and how you believe your admission into the graduate program in Sport Management at WSU will help you to pursue those goals.
  • Official GRE scores
 
The following items must be submitted directly to the College of Education Office of Graduate Studies:
  • Copy of Supplemental Information Form
  • The Sport Management program requires evidence of prerequisite knowledge in the following areas prior to admission: academic study of sport, accounting/finance, communication, economics, law, management, and marketing. Evidence of prerequisite knowledge may consist of prior coursework or work experience judged adequate by the Sport Management faculty. If you possess knowledge in one or more of these areas that may not be evident in your transcripts or resume, please provide a brief typewritten explanatory statement.
