  4. Pass the basic skills test.
  5. Apply to Teacher Education program.

  1. Hurray! You’re now admitted.
  2. Request assignment for advanced practicum student teaching area (planning ahead!).
  3. Complete pre-residency certificate clearance (background check).
  4. Purchase liability insurance.
  5. Complete your practicum (TCH_LRN 402).

  1. Great job! You’re moving right along!
  2. Interview for your student teaching.
  3. Complete your second practicum (TCH_LRN 405).
  4. Register for (or perhaps even attempt) the content knowledge exam.

  1. You’re doing great. Keep it up!
  2. Purchase (renew) liability insurance.
  3. Complete your advanced practicum (TCH_LRN 490).
    1. This usually takes place in your home town area.
    2. It’s the first 4-6 weeks of a semester.
    3. It’s full-time.
    4. Complete PDEFE form.
  4. Return to campus for the last 10 weeks of normal courses.
