Welcome and overview

Chris SodorffBy Christine Sodorff,
Director of Field Services
& Student Teaching

Welcome to the Office of Field Services and Student Teaching.  We are proud of our field-based teacher preparation program.

Field experiences are integrated throughout the teacher preparation program.  The field-based undergraduate and graduate programs are offered at the Pullman, Tri-Cities and Vancouver campuses.  Placements are made in those areas as well as in Spokane and Greater Puget Sound.  Student teaching may also be arranged internationally in Europe and Asia.

Undergraduate programs include some field experiences prior to program admission.  Upon admission, field experiences are integrated with blocked methods courses and vary in design depending on the campus.  Sixteen weeks of student teaching is the culminating experience.

Graduate programs leading to licensure include Master in Teaching offered at the Pullman/Spokane, Tri-Cities and Vancouver campuses for elementary and some content area endorsements. Programs vary in length depending on the campus.

At Washington State University, we strive to prepare the best teachers in the state. You are invited to explore what we have to offer.
