Julie Titone oversees and produces content for the College of Education’s Web site and print/digital publications, including the EduCoug blog. She is also the media/public relations contact for the college.
Titone is a veteran newspaper journalist who worked for the Idaho Statesman in Boise and the Spokesman-Review in Spokane. Her freelance articles and photographs have appeared in a variety of publications, including two literary anthologies and two college texts on environmental journalism. In 2001, she received a Ford Motor Co. Environmental Reporting Fellowship, allowing her to teach journalism and report in Ghana, West Africa. Titone holds a B.S. degree in communications from Southern Illinois University and an M.A. in communications from Ohio State University, where she was a fellow with the Kiplinger Program in Public Affairs Journalism. After working for several years at the Joan B. Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame, she joined the WSU staff in fall 2006.
