Research interests

Guy Westhoff researches applications of new and emerging technologies to teaching and learning environments. This includes research on utilizing blogs as a means to increase technology integration with pre-service teacher education students, making connections with pre-service teacher education students by utilizing desktop video conferencing for observing student teaching experiences, and exploring the factors that influence pre-service teacher education students’ adoption of technologies.

Teaching/professional interests

Westhoff teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in educational technology, specifically Methods for Integrating Technology in Teaching, Introduction to Educational Technology, Multimedia Authoring Systems, and Theories of Change.

Recent accomplishments

  • Award for Special Service from the Association for Educational Communication and Technology (AECT), October 2005, and the Presidential Award for Exemplary Leadership from the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT), October, 2004.
