Teaching/professional interests
Gene Sharratt directs the field-based Superintendents' Certification Program. He teaches Educational Administration at WSU’s Spokane/Wenatchee campus. He has 30 years of public and private school experience including nine years in the classroom and 21 years in school administration, including Elementary Principal, Assistant Superintendent, Superintendent, and Educational Service District Superintendent.
Research interests
Dr. Sharratt conducts research on the characteristics and attributes of effective district and building level leaders and how they impact school culture. Sharratt believe school leaders are responsible for establishing the conditions under which staff and students improve in their performance and practice.
