Research interests
Linda Mabry's research interests include the assessment
of student achievement in K-12, evaluation of
educational and social programs, and qualitative and
case study methodology. Her current projects are: a
study of the implementation and impact of No Child Left
Behind in two school districts, a study of the Smaller
Learning Communities program in four high schools, the
development of a public statement on educational
accountability for the American Evaluation Association,
and membership on a task force to revise the Standards
for Program Evaluation.
Teaching/professional interests
Linda Mabry teaches courses in student assessment,
educational psychology, and research methodology. She
is also working on the development of an advanced
certificate in assessment.

- 2002-04 Board of Directors, American Evaluation
Association (elected)
- 1998-2007 Board of Trustees, National Center for
the Improvement of Educational Assessment (elected and
re-elected)
- 2004 Named in the Encyclopedia of Evaluation as a
major contributor to the field of evaluation
- 2006 Educational Accountability, a public statement
issued by the American Evaluation Association, task
force chair. AEA has issued two other public
statements, all available online: High-Stakes Testing
(task force member), and response to federal proposal
to grant funding preference to certain quantitative
evaluation designs (task force chair).
- 2005 Conducting evaluation in the real world:
Overcoming budget, time, and data constraints, Sage
Publications, with co-authors Michael Bamberger and
James Rugh. This book is a nominee for Outstanding Book
of the Year, American Evaluation Association.
