As program developer, Jack Horne fosters connections
between the School and Community Collaboration Center
and school districts, agencies, and communities in
Washington. He determines the best way for the center
to provide appropriate, efficient and effective
partnerships.
Horne’s special expertise is in science and math
education. From 1983 to 1996, he was a WSU faculty
member, teaching science methods instruction, and also
directed the Science Learning and Instruction Center
and the Science Math Engineering Education
Center. From 1996 to 2007, he worked as a
professional development provider and grant writer for
the North Central Educational Service District in
Wenatchee, Wash. He has developed and facilitated more
than 50 astronomy professional development workshops
for teachers. Early in his career, he taught high
school science and math.
