Research interests
The study of emotion in organizational settings
identifies the theme guiding and connecting Gordon S.
Gates' research on leadership, stress and coping, and
school community. Most recently, he has been exploring
connects between emotions theory and social justice in
schools.
Teaching/professional interests
Gates teaches Social Foundations of Education,
Dissertation Preparation, Introduction to Qualitative
Research, Philosophy of Education, Research Methods,
Educational Statistics. He has also conducted program
evaluations for school districts in Washington State,
Texas, California, and New Jersey.
