Sarah French’s responsibilities include
collection development, library instruction, and
research and reference assistance to students and
faculty in both her liaison areas and the community at
large. Her research interests include the treatment of
mental health issues in children’s and young
adult literature, reading habits of pre-service
teachers, the social and emotional development of
gifted children, stress and burnout in academia, and
services to non-traditional and learning disabled
students.
After a lengthy career as a child and family therapist,
school counselor, talented and gifted coordinator,
independent school administrator, and early childhood
researcher, French added an additional graduate degree
in library and information science to the mix. She
joined the WSU Libraries as a faculty librarian in
2006.
