Research focus
Barbara Freeouf studies the use of lesson study with
pre-service teachers; the use of evidence in
pedagogical content knowledge; the development and
integration of high-quality, classroom-based case study
materials in mathematics education (for both pre- and
in-service teachers), and partnerships for improving
mathematics education.
Teaching/professional interests
Freeouf teaches T&L 352 (Elementary Math
Methods), Math 330 (Secondary Math Methods), Math 398
(Mathematical Snapshots), Math 251 (Mathematical
Reasoning for Elementary Teachers) and has taught a
wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses in
education. She has also taught mathematics in grades 5
– 16. She collects mathematical quotations
and cartoons.
