Professional interests
Yichien Cooper teaches Integrating Arts into K-8 Curriculum. In addition to her five years of teaching pre-service art teachers and classroom teachers, she has six years of museum experience as a museum educator and curator in the U.S. and Taiwan. Her course is multicultural and comprehensive in nature. She uses hands-on activities, criticism, art history, aesthetic inquiries, and field trips to bridge theory and practice in teaching visual art, drama, and movement. She has delivered papers, workshops, and presentations regionally, nationally, and internationally.

Teaching and Learning in Art, Foundations in Art Education, Multiculturalism in Art Education, Curriculum Design in Art Education, Cultural Aesthetics in Art Curricula, Mass Media and Visual Culture in Art Education, Museum Studies, and Art Museum Education.
