Research interests
Tina Anctil's
research and scholarship focus on school-based
career development for children and adolescents from
underrepresented groups, including those in foster
care, persons with disabilities, and/or racially and
ethnically diverse populations. She conducts research
on the relationships among career development, academic
achievement, and adult outcomes. Anctil has ongoing
consulting projects with schools that are focusing on
school reform and school counselor accountability.
Teaching/professional interests
Anctil coordinates the school counseling program, and
the field placement component for the masters in
counseling program.She regularly teaches courses in
school and community counseling including Issues in
School Counseling, Practicum and Internship for
Community and School Counselors, and Thesis and
Dissertation Preparation. In addition, she has
taught Career Development and Counseling Diverse
Populations. Anctil facilitates school counselor
certification for WSU and teaches the School Counselor
Peer Review Course, required by the State of
Washington. She includes school counseling students in
her consultation practice with schools.
