Professional/teaching interests
Brett Amidan teaches undergraduate and graduate statistics classes in the WSU College of Education and College of Business.
Research interests
Amidan is interested in creating analytical multivariate algorithms to help explore large datasets. He has applied these algorithms to national power grid data and aircraft safety. He also is interested in applying experimental design principles to scientific studies.
Recent accomplishments
- 2007 FLC (Federal Lab Consortium) Award for Excellence in Technology Transfer.
- 2006 ASA (American Statistical Association) Statistical Application of the Year Award.
- 2005 R&D 100 Award winner and R&D Magazine Editor's Choice award for "Product with the Greatest Impact on Safety"
- Space Act Board and ICB (Inventions and Contributions Board) awards from NASA (2005, 2006, 2007).
- 4 U.S. patents received.
