Teacher Professional Certification (ProCert) Program
WSU’s ProCert Program, coordinated through the School & Community Collaboration Center in the College of Education, strives to provide a quality personal and professional growth experience that builds upon a solid base of knowledge and experience, and provides support, guidance and mentoring immersed in reflection and analysis.

Avoid the $495 external assessment fee by completing your ProCert through WSU by August 31, 2011
As a result of recent legislative action, program requirements have changed. Teachers enrolled in the program must now complete professional development work concurrently with these two courses:
- Fall 2009: T&L 541
Pre-assessment Seminar
- Spring 2010: T&L 543 Culminating
Seminar
- The program for fee is for teachers who do not want graduate credit for the program
- Each course will run for fifteen weeks
- Teachers will meet once a week for 3 hours
- Instructor/teachers will create schedule of dates/times at first session of each course
- Fall semester will run from the weeks of September 8/11 through December 14/18
- Spring semester will run from the weeks of January 11/15 through April 26/30
- Semester may be expanded to allow for time off during holidays (flexible schedule)
- Fall semester payment of $500 due by September 30, 2009
- Spring semester payment of $500 due by January 29, 2010
- 45 clock hours available for each course
- Courses will be offered locally

Teachers should work toward their Professional Teacher Certificate if they: hold a valid Washington Residency Teacher Certificate; have completed two consecutive years of successful teaching with a school district, state approved private school, or state agency that provides educational services for students; and have signed a third-year contract since the issuance of their residency teacher certificate.
WSU’s ProCert Program can be completed online or on-campus in Spokane , Tri-Cities or Vancouver. Teachers interested in attending an on-campus program should contact the specific campus.
