Take One Program 2009-2010


WSU NBPTS offers a Take One support program for teachers who opt for this professional growth opportunity from the National Board.  Our Take One support program allows teachers to participate in our full-candidate NBPTS cohorts in a modified format.  The timeline below illustrates the Take One program at WSU.

January -
December

Apply to the NBPTS Take One Program on the NBPTS website

June

Washington State University (WSU) NBPTS program begins with the Candidate Orientation

July -
August

Candidates meet once during each of the summer months with the WSU NBPTS full-candidate cohort

September -
October

Candidates meet twice a month with the WSU NBPTS full-candidate cohort

November -
January

Candidates work on their own developing evidence for their Take One entry

February -
March

Candidates return to the ongoing WSU NBPTS full-candidate cohort and meet 2 or 3 times a month

April 15th 

Take One entries due at the National Board

December 31st 

Candidates notified of their score by Dec. 31st
