Mission

To Provide a framework for alumni to meet for
educational, professional and social purposes;
- Investigate the creation of an Open House and reception for all college alumni at either the Homecoming or Land Grant football weekends in Pullman.

To offer an advisory service to the
college;
- Produce an e-mail list for alumni to connect with other alumni and with the College administration.

To promote the college and the profession
through student recruitment and legislative
lobbying;
- Continue alumni involvement in college outreach programs like the Evenings of Excellence and Future Teachers of Color recruitment events.
- Continue activities aimed at lobbying the members of the Washington legislature on behalf of the College or WSU

To stimulate interest in, and financial support
for, the college
- Follow up with recent WSU College of Education graduates who are employed in Washington, urging their support for the College and membership in the Alumni Association.
Membership
Who Is Eligible?
- All persons who have earned an undergraduate or graduate degree, or who have completed course work in the WSU College Education and possess an education degree from another institution, are eligible for regular membership in the Association.
- Present and retired faculty, and persons who have rendered valuable service to the College of Education, are eligible for honorary membership in the Association. Nominations for honorary memberships may be made by members of the Association, or current faculty, to the Board of Trustees of the Association, which has the power to approve honorary memberships. Honorary membership entitles the holder, thereof, to all rights, privileges, and responsibilities of any member of the Association, except that of holding office.
- Students are eligible for membership during the fourth year of undergraduate course work or at any time after formal admittance to a graduate program in the College of Education.
- Membership shall be on a calendar year basis from January 1 through December 31. Criteria for active membership will be based on fulfillment of the annual dues requirement as authorized in the charter and bylaws of the WSU Alumni Association.
The Alumni Board consists of:
- One elected representative of each College of Education academic department area (Educational Leadership and Counseling Psychology; Sport Management; and Teaching and Learning) from five districts in Washington state. The five districts are defined as the following (see addendum I for map):
- Southwest Washington (ESD 112 and 113)
Puget Sound (ESD 121)
Northwest Washington (ESD 189 and 114)
Northeast Washington (ESD 101 and 171)
Southeast/South Central Washington (ESD 105 and 123) - Two members at large elected from the general membership.
- Any current representation on the Board of Trustees may remain as a member at large upon moving outside their current district.
- The immediate past president of the Association.
- Two representatives from the College of Education appointed by the Dean (ex officio members).
- Two student representatives will serve on the Board of Trustees. These representatives shall be appointed by the College of Education.
- Every attempt shall be made to fill vacant positions first as stated in these bylaws, however if that is not possible, there shall be flexibility to fill the positions from available candidates.
