Education - Teacher preparation
Department of Teaching & Learning
The education curriculum provides the skills and knowledge to teach and guide school children in preschool through 12th grade. Students who successfully complete Washington State University's preparation program and pass the WEST-E test will receive a Residency Teaching Certificate from the state of Washington.
To earn teacher certification in a particular subject, you also must complete core professional education coursework within the College of Education.

Health and fitness focuses on how muscles and other bodily systems work, develop, and interact. The program includes studies in exercise science, anatomy, motor learning, motor control, sport psychology, motor development, health and wellness, and biomechanics. Additionally, health and fitness is the teaching certification endorsement area for those who want to teach wellness and recreational activity (formerly known as physical education) or to coach sport teams.
Leadership studies minor
